kicheko goods launched january 2014
Meaning “smile/laughter” in Swahili, Kicheko Goods is an emerging, independent socially conscious brand that designs distinctive pieces which invest in education. Concepts for the brand’s small batch collections are inspired by geometry, nature, creative conversations and travel. Kicheko's aesthetic shares an unrefined boldness, sophisticated earthiness and playful simplicity. Kicheko creates pieces along a spectrum from minimally stated with a mix of metals (hope 71) to chunky and interesting with a lot of textures and materials employed (ace metricals). When designing a collection, we usually have a few themes, materials and color palettes in mind.
Jewelry makes a statement and has an impact but the main event is the woman wearing it. The brand's values places to continue conversations, share life with, celebrate wins together - that's the dream.
& "IN her OWN WORDS... "
i love my new bodhi swag cocoon shawl, Everlane's leather slip on street shoe, Cuyana's structured cinch leather bag in black, and a recent purchase that I've been saving for, West Elm's Mongolian lamb stool - it's so soft!
Boho and minimalist at the same time. i love an eclectic or funky detail but for the most part my daily dress is stylish utilitarian.
on fun quirks
Growing up, my childhood dream was to skate like Michelle Kwan and go to the Olympics. i competitively ice skated for three years and still love the feeling of flying on the ice, but I sure can't do jumps anymore, haha!
